Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-16.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on AI Made, why we use them, and how to control them. Plain-language version: cookies are small text files your browser stores to remember things between page loads.

Cookies we use

We group our cookies into three categories. You can opt in or out of categories 2 and 3 via the cookie consent banner; category 1 is strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of.

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These keep the site working. They include:

  • WordPress session cookies — used when you log in or post a comment. Expires when you close your browser.
  • Cookie consent cookie — stores your consent preferences so we don’t ask again on every page. Expires after 12 months.

2. Analytics cookies

These let us count visits and understand which articles are read.

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — counts visits, page views, and engagement in aggregate. We use the anonymised-IP mode, so Google does not receive your full IP address. Retained for 13 months by default.

3. Advertising cookies

These let us serve ads and measure their effectiveness. They may also be set by the ad networks themselves for ad selection.

  • Google AdSense (__gads, IDE, NID) — used by Google to select ads (personalised or non-personalised depending on your cookie consent), to cap how often the same ad is shown to you, and to measure ad performance.
  • DoubleClick (IDE) — legacy Google ad-serving cookie. Same purpose as AdSense cookies.

How to control cookies

Via the consent banner. When you first visit AI Made, the consent banner shows you which categories are active and lets you opt in or out. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser.

Via your browser. Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies site-by-site or globally. The relevant pages for popular browsers: Chrome (Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies), Safari (Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data), Firefox (Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data), Edge (Settings → Cookies and site permissions). Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site.

Opt-out tools. Some ad networks offer browser-level opt-out signals: Google’s ads settings, the Your Online Choices EU opt-out, and the Global Privacy Control browser signal are all respected.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as a binding opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal data for California (CCPA) and applicable-EEA purposes. We do not load Google Analytics 4 advertising features when GPC is present.

The legacy Do Not Track (DNT) header is no longer widely used; we treat it as informational only.

Children and cookies

We do not knowingly serve personalised ads or behavioural analytics to anyone we know to be under the age of 16. The age gates in our consent banner reflect this.

Changes

If we add a new cookie category or change which cookies we use, we update this page and surface a consent banner again. Material changes are flagged in the “Last updated” line at the top.
